We measure success not against other students, but against each child's own potential, established through Quest standardised cognitive assessments. Our ambition is simple: every student meets the expected standard (Green), most go beyond it (Sky Blue), and some will astonish everyone — including themselves (Space Blue). A positive attitude to life and learning, built through the ACE approach, is what makes the difference between a good education and an extraordinary one.

We know that not every student will achieve A* in every subject — and we are honest about that. The Cambridge Pathway — A Clear Path from Age 3 to 19

TOWIS delivers the Cambridge Pathway — one of the most respected and widely recognised educational frameworks in the world. The Cambridge Pathway provides five stages of education, leading seamlessly from Early Years through Primary, Lower Secondary, Upper Secondary, and on to Advanced level (A Levels / IB). Each stage builds directly on the previous one, deepening knowledge, understanding, and skill in a coherent, progressive sequence that prepares learners not just for examinations, but for university, career, and life.

At TOWIS, we currently offer Cambridge Early Years, Cambridge Primary, Cambridge Lower Secondary, and Cambridge Upper Secondary (IGCSE). Our students therefore follow a coherent, unbroken Cambridge pathway from age 3 through to IGCSE at age 16. Every stage prepares students specifically for the next — so a child joining TOWIS at three years old, progressing through every phase, arrives at their Cambridge IGCSE examinations with thirteen years of progressively deepening knowledge, skill, and understanding behind them.

Cambridge Primary

Years 1–6 · Ages 5–11 · Cambridge Stages 1–6

Primary is where the foundations laid in EYFS are built into lasting knowledge and skill. Children move from learning to read to reading to learn; from counting to calculating; from asking questions to researching answers. The Cambridge Primary curriculum challenges students progressively across every subject, and every lesson is designed so that all students reach the expected standard — and most go further.

Equally important at this stage is the development of character. We want Primary students to leave Year 6 not just as capable learners, but as confident, resilient, and empathetic young people who believe in their own ability to grow. That growth mindset — the belief that intelligence and skill are not fixed but built — is the greatest gift we can give a child before they enter secondary school.

Your child's homeroom teacher leads that development across all six Primary years — knowing each student individually, tracking their progress closely in every subject, communicating proactively with home, and being the consistent, trusted adult who bridges school and family life. Key Milestones & Expectations — Primary Phase

1. End of Year 1: Phonics complete (Phase 5); reads simple decodable books fluently; writes complete sentences with capital letters and full stops
2. End of Year 2: Reads age-appropriate texts with comprehension; spells common exception words accurately; writes in structured sentences throughout
3. End of Year 2: Times tables ×2, ×5, ×10 secure; adds and subtracts to 100; understands place value to 100
4. End of Year 4: All times tables to 12×12 known by heart without hesitation; written methods for all four operations accurate and efficient
5. End of Year 6: Writes extended, structured text across fiction, non-fiction and argument; reads widely and independently across genres
6. End of Year 6: Cambridge Primary Checkpoint — English, Mathematics, Science; the formal benchmark for Lower Secondary readiness
7. Throughout: Weekly structured spelling programme; daily independent reading; students know their spelling targets
8. Throughout: Blue Zone challenge in every lesson — all students pushed beyond the expected standard, every day
