Behaviour & Attitude to Learning — Our Approach
At The One World International School Yangon, we believe that how a student behaves — how they treat others, how they approach their learning, and how they carry themselves through the world — matters as much as any examination result.
Character is not a by-product of education at TOWIS. It is one of its central purposes.
Our approach to behaviour is built around three convictions. First, that every student in our school community has the right to feel safe, respected, and valued — every day, without exception. Second, that positive behaviour is something we actively build and celebrate, not just something we correct when it breaks down. And third, that the vast majority of our students, the vast majority of the time, are doing the right thing — and deserve to be recognised for it.
The TOWIS Student Profile
Every student at TOWIS is working towards the same profile — not a profile of grades and examination scores, but a profile of who they are becoming. The TOWIS Student Profile has two dimensions: Positive Behaviours for Learning and Positive Attitudes for Life. Together, they describe the whole person we are developing.

These qualities are not fixed personality traits — they are skills, and like all skills they are learned, practised, and improved. Every student at TOWIS is capable of developing every one of them. We never give up on a student's character any more than we give up on their academic progress.
Recognising Great Behaviour — The Points System
At TOWIS, we believe that catching students doing things right is more powerful than catching them doing things wrong. Our points system is designed first and foremost as a recognition tool — a daily, visible celebration of effort, kindness, engagement, and positive attitude.

Parents can see their child's points total in real time through the ClassDojo parent app. |
The opportunity to earn points is available to every student, in every lesson, every day. There is no ceiling. A student who has had a difficult week can turn it around by the end of the term. A student who has always found positive recognition hard to reach can get there — and we will support them to do it.

Every student starts each term with a clean slate and every opportunity to fly. Green is the expected standard — the floor. Sky Blue is where most of our students land when they put their effort in. Space Blue is there for every student who decides to go further. We have yet to meet a TOWIS student who cannot get there.
