Student Council & Student Leadership
At TOWIS, student voice is not a gesture — it is a right. In line with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Articles 12 and 29), every student has the right to express their views and to have those views taken seriously. The Student Council is how we put that right into practice.
Student Council
Each class elects a Student Council Representative democratically. Council members meet regularly to share ideas, raise concerns on behalf of their classmates, and plan initiatives that improve school life. Student Council has a real influence on decisions — from events and activities to how the school community is run. Students learn that their voice matters and that change is possible when people come together with purpose.
House Captains
Each House elects two Primary Captains and two Secondary Captains. House Captains organise events, encourage participation across all year groups, model the school’s values, and ensure that every student — from the youngest to the oldest — has the opportunity to compete and contribute. House Captains are not chosen because they are the loudest or the most popular: they are chosen because they are trusted, responsible, and genuinely committed to others.
Head Boy & Head Girl
From among the student leaders, two are selected as Head Boy and Head Girl — the senior ambassadors for the student body. They represent students at key school events, lead assemblies, support community and charitable initiatives, and act as a bridge between the student body and the leadership of the school. These are roles that carry real responsibility and real pride.
Leadership roles at TOWIS are also practical preparation for the future. A record of Student Council membership, House Captain responsibility, or Head Boy/Head Girl service strengthens university personal statements and CVs — demonstrating initiative, communication, and the ability to lead with integrity.
